Medina Cemetery
The Medina Cemetery is located south of Medina, ND, west side of County Road 68. Located in Chicago Twp. 139-68, SE corner of NE 1/4. On June 12, 1934, and later on January 17, 1956, more land was purchased.
Back in the old’n days, small private cemeteries were very common. Even in the city limits, up on a hill next to the old Cottage Hotel, there is a grave surrounded by a fence where a young child who, died of diphtheria, was buried.
In 1904 some Medina citizens met to organize an association for a city cemetery, and on April 24th it became official. After that association members paid a $5 membership fee and land was purchased.
